BOWLING in JAPAN

The girl who is rolling a ball was my host sister. Her name is Julia, and she is two years younger than me. When I was a high school student, I went to the U.S. as an exchange student. There were mom, dad, and three sisters. The oldest sister and I were the same age, and the other sisters were twins! Julia is one of the twins. She always woke me up on Saturday and Sunday morning. I didn't have to wake up so early, but she always woke me up, and we ate breakfast together. I liked eating pancake for breakfast. On Sunday, I went to Church with the family, and I went to Sunday school, too. I wasn't a Christian, but it was good to learn their way of thinking. Many Japanese people say children, "if you do something bad, you will go to the hell, and if you do good things, you can go to seven." I thought it is world common, but it was not. Christian doesn't think like that. They think only the people who believe in God can go to heaven. Stephanie, the oldest host sister told me she thinks it is wrong that people who did bad things go to hell because everyone do bad things. Even if you didn't kill anybody or steal anything, you may have injured people, so you can't say who is bad or who is good. I understood it and agreed with the thinking. I got new ideas from them. Anyway, Julia was in Japan as an exchange student on August. Stephanie has been Japan few years ago, too. When I was in America, Julia said that she wanted to come to Japan, so I was glad that she did it! Then I went to Tamana to see her. I drove my mom's car to Tamana. I was kind of scared because I got car license about two years ago, but I hadn't driven alone so much. At first, we went to eat out. She couldn't eat a lot of kind of Japanese food, but she tried to eat. I said that she didn't have to eat it if she didn't like it, but she said she wanted to because she won't get so many chances to come to Japan. How nice she is! After eating lunch, we went for bowling. I remembered that Stephanie, Nicole, Julia, and I did bowling in America. We had fun! After that, we went to Jusco to get some snacks. Stephanie and Nicole liked Japanese snacks, so Julia got snacks for them. Then I took Julia to her host family's home, and said goodbye. I hope that we can see each other again.(451/4551 words)

A japanese sweet like an orange

This is a picture of an orange. Well, it’s not real orange. In fact, it is just a Japanese sweet. Can you tell the difference? Isn’t it cool? I think it is. I took the picture when I was a high school student. One of my friends made it in a class. I’m from T.G.H.S. They have a food department, so the students who belong to food department often have classes to cook. Then the friend made the Japanese sweet in one of the class. I asked her, “was it difficult?” she said, “Not really, I think everyone can make it.” However it seemed very difficult for me. When I was a high school student, I didn’t cook at all. Just sometimes I helped my mother cooking, so I couldn’t cook very well. However now, I live at an apartment alone, so I must cook. At first, I didn’t know much about cooking, but as I cook, I noticed that I like cooking. I think I’m not bad at cooking. I will put my supper on my blog sometime.(‘U’)(179/4100 words)

A Hair Cut Show

Look at this picture. This is a picture of me and my friend, Michiru. On November 3rd, K.U. had a school festival, and Stuffs from Nifty, a hair salon came to give a hair cut show. Michiru and I were on the stage. Michiru and I wore exactly same cloths on the stage. We just had different color tights. I had black and medium hair, but I said okay to get my hair cut, so I got little bit shorter. I also died my hair. I thought there won’t be anyone that I know because it was not K.G.U. However, some of my friends were there. I had to pretend like I’m cool, so I shouldn’t have smiled, but my friends make me laugh, so I smiled a lot. I had to wear high-heeled shoes, so my legs were kind of tired, but it was an interesting experience. After the show, I got my hair cut at Nifty. I got really short hair. Friday morning

This morning, I woke up at about six forty, but I didn't get up because I was so sleepy, then I fell asleep again. Next, I woke up about seven twenty by my mom's call. I remembered that I asked mom to wake me up last night. My mom said not to fell asleep again, but I did. Then, I woke up about eight fifteen. I had to go to first period, so I got up soon and went to school. I was surprised that I could wake up. It was not too cold outside, but it was cool. I liked it. This afternoon, I have some interview at one O'clock to two O'clock. I will be asked about university. For example, what is the education policy of the English department? Why I decided to come to KGU? What the impression of this university after entrance to school. What am I going to do after graduating? How do I use library? Do I know about scholarship system well? Do I know about consultation system? I don't think I will be able to answer these questions.(185/3165)

Sports Festival!

We have sports festival on next Saturday, so I’m busy to prepare for it. Yesterday, I went to Donkiho-te in Kamikumamoto with my friends to get some stuff for the sports festival. Some people stay at school all night and practice dancing. I don’t need to practice dancing because only boys dance. Even if I had to practice dancing, I didn’t think I want to stay at school. It’s kind of messy, so I don’t want to sleep in the room. However we will not be able to sleep the night before the day. Maybe we have to spend the night at school tomorrow. A BLACK TOAST

Can you tell what this picture is? It is a piece of toasts. It’s about one O’clock a.m. I know that I shouldn’t eat anything before sleeping, and I usually try not to eat. However today, I was very hungry, and I was not going to sleep for a while. Then I putted a piece of toasts into micro wave. When I was typing English, my cell phone ringed. I answered, and talked with my friend about her part time job and so on. We talked about one hour. I forgot about the toast. It was too late to remember about it. My broken dictionary :'(

My electronic dictionary that I use since 7th grade was broken. I don't know why it was broken, but it didn't work well when I was doing my assignments. I try to turn on the switch sometime, but it still doesn't work. I was sad because I use my electronic dictionary often. I think I need to buy new one. The electronic dictionary which I was using had too much functions. It had English dictionary, Japanese dictionary, Korean dictionary, Chinese dictionary, German dictionary, Spanish dictionary, and Russian dictionary, and it also explains about some foods in the world. I hadn't used these functions, so I think it's too much, isn't it? I want to buy a dictionary which has just few functions I need. I just want English dictionary (English-Japanese, Japanese-English, English-English) and Japanese dictionary. My dictionary's color was just silver, so I also want to choose the color of electronic dictionary. I like white, black, pink, or red for it.(161/2361words)

A Sasebo Burger

This picture is a Sasebo Burger’s picture. Last summer, I went to Sasebo in Nagasaki to just eat Sasebo Burger. A night before the day, I was hanging out with my friends. I was looking at my friend’s picture, and there was a picture with a big hamburger. I knew it is a Sasebo Burger because it’s very famous. I had seen it on TV before. I told Satomi the friend who went to Sasebo that I wanted to go Sasebo, and she said we can go Sasebo next day. Another friend, Eri and I were really excited. We wanted to go there at that time. We couldn’t wait, but Satomi was very sleepy, so she said she wants to sleep. Eri and I waited for tomorrow morning. Then we left my friend’s house about ten O’clock. We didn’t use any superhighway. It took about 5 hours to get there. We were kind of hungry, but we went to the sea. It was no as beautiful as the sea in Okinawa, but it was beautiful. In the morning, it was cloudy, but it was very fine when we were in Sasebo. Next, we went to the zoo. There were many animals. I liked the little monkeys. They were cute. After that, we went to buy Sasebo Burgers. It was bigger than I thought. It was yummy. Then we went buck to home. I was kind of sleepy in the way to home.(242/2122)

Shrek

I watched Shrek in English with English caption. Then, after watching it, I watched it with Japanese caption, so I could understand well. I didn't watch any other contents. I just watched them in this class, and I was interested it, so I want to watch them sometime. (48/1095 words)

My birth day

My birthday was on October 9th. My friend and I made supper. We ate hamburger. It was good. (・U・) After eating supper, my friend gave me a birthday cake. I didn't know that she had a birthday cake for me. I was so surprised and glad. I tried to puff out the candles at once, but I couldn't. It took three times. The cake had a lot of fruits on it. It was yummy! After that, we watched a scary movie called Siren. It's a Japanese movie. Yui Ichikawa acted the main character. She is cute! I had watched the movie before, but it was scary. I slept about at 11 O’clock, and I woke up at 2 O’clock. I forgot that it was my birthday, and I fell asleep again. (135/1047 words)

What I did yesterday

Yesterday, I woke up about 8 O'clock. I was very sleepy and still wanted to sleep, but I h ad first period. My first period on Thursday is, Spanish. I took Spanish last year, too. Studying Spanish is very hard for me. I can't understand. I don't think I'm going to take Spanish next year. However I like learning Spanish culture. Sometimes we watch some videos that show Spanish cities in the class. I like it. English is very famous language. Many people speak English. That's why I want to study English, and I think Spanish is also famous language, so I wanted to study Spanish, too. (107/912 words)

Bronze Medals!

Yesterday,I went to Miyagi-ken on August. I went there for a softball meeting. Many university boys’ softball teams in Japan come for this meeting. We stayed there about one week. In the morning, we assembled at school, and we took a school bus to go to the kumamoto airport. Then we got on an airplane to go to the Haneda airport. I hadn’t been haneda airport before, so it was my first time. Next, we took a bus from Tokyo to Miyagi. It took about four hours to get there. It was so long. Everyone was very tired. In the evening, we got there. It was dark outside. We stayed a nice hotel. It had two hot springs. I don’t like hot springs that much, but these were good. Next morning, we woke up at about 5:30 in the morning, and went to practice. And we also had a opening ceremony. I took a lot of pictures with another secretary from upstairs. Then, we went back to the hotel. The hotel didn’t have washing machine, so we had to go to coin laundry to do the wash. We took a taxi, did the wash, and took a taxi again to go back to the hotel. It cost about 10000 yen to do that. First, we gather everyone’s laundry. They have a lot of laundries. It is so heavy every time. Then my friend (another secretary) and I go to the coin laundry, and put them into the washing machines. After that, we remove the laundries out of the washing machine to the dryer. Next, we fold them and separate the laundries into each room. Then we go back to the hotel. Next day we had a game, and we won. We watched other team’s game, and went back to the hotel. I did the laundries with my friend again, and we ate supper. Two other teams stayed same hotel. So we ate supper together. We got close with other team’s secretaries. The next day, we woke up early in the morning again, and went to the meeting place, but we didn’t have any game the day because of the bad weather. The next day, we had a game, and the next day, we had two games. The last game was K.G.U versus K.U. We lost, but it was very nice game, and we got bronze medals. We were so glad. However we were little bit sad because seniors retire from our softball team. Anyway, it was very nice game. (419/805 words)

SHIRO

This is my dog’s picture. She is about 5years old, maybe. Her name is Shiro. Shiro is kind of old, and common name for dogs in Japan. My friend named her Shiro. She took shiro to my apartment. At first, I was thinking about a lot of kinds of names, but when she came to my apartment, my friend called her Shiro, and Shiro answers when we say, “Shiro!” Then I quit thinking about her name. When Shiro came to my apartment, her tale already looked like a tale of a lion. I really liked it. First, I had Shiro at my apartment without telling my mom. One day, my mom came to my apartment, and she was very surprised. However she did not get mad at me. She really liked Shiro. She said that she wanted to take shiro to home. I said no, but I knew that having shiro at home is better than having her at my apartment because my room is kind of narrow for dogs. Then my mom took Shiro to her home. I was so sad because we always slept together, and we always went to walk, too. However my mom loved Shiro, too. My mom didn’t like having pets inside of house before, but now, she has Shiro inside of house. Sometimes I go back to my home to see my family and Shiro. Shiro always follows my mom and me. She follows me even when I go to the bathroom. She is so cute. However she doesn’t like men. My dad tried to give some food to Shiro, but Shiro didn’t take any food from men before. She often barks at my brother. I wonder why. One day, I was taking a nap, and I was dreaming. I had a monkey in my dream. The monkey wasn’t nice to me at first, but we got close. I was holding the monkey in my arms, and I woke up. However I felt something on my stomach. It was heavy. Shiro was on my stomach. I was so surprised, and I thought that how cute she is! I told that to my mom, and she was jealous of me. She said, “Shiro had never done that to me. May be you were mistaken for me.” Haha. Isn’t Shiro so cute? (386 words)

my plan

I have to go to gakkan at 1:30. We are going to stay at nishigoushi-kenshuujo about 2 days with some university student from Korea. I don’t know well, but my friend told me that we are taking them to Kmamoto castle, shopping, etc. I will go to practice in the morning because we have practice in Nishigoushi. I don’t know about the plan, and I have a lot of things to do like blogging. However it will be fun.

What I did yesterday

Yesterday, I went to nishigoshi ground because we had a practice. I was putting balls in a batting machine, and it began to rain. We kept practicing, but it kept raining, too. It rained very hard. We quit practicing. After that, I went to a meeting at 20:00. Some people from 5 universities were already there. After that, I went back home, and I ate supper.

my report

I wrote a report for Bunka-Jinruigaku-class. I had to write about religion. I could write anything about religion, so I wrote what I think about religion. I never felt I’m a Buddhist until going to America. I have studied nothing about Buddhism. I don’t know anything. I go to temple or shrine. However if my parent doesn’t make me do that, I will not go there. I really didn’t like I am a Buddhist. When I went to America as an exchange student, I went to church every week. I was surprised about many things at first. I studied about Christ a lot at the church. Sometimes it was hard to understand, but my host sister explained in easy English. At the Church, we sang songs, too. I thought it was cool. I think it is cool that many people go to church every week. I was surprised that many shops are closed on Sunday because they have to go to church. At first, everything was cool to me. One day, my host sister asked me, “Who taught you about Buddha? How did you study?” I think I had never studied about Buddha, but Christian studies about God every week, and they pray for god every day. I want to know about Christianity, and my host sister wanted me to know about God, too, so I studied about God. My host sister taught me a lot of things, too. However as I studied, I couldn’t understand. Sometimes I couldn’t agree with them. For example, Jesus dies on the cross, but he comes back three days later. It could be true, but it was hard to believe for me. My host sister wanted me to be a Christian. I asked that why she wants me to be Christian. She said that she wants me to be Christian because she wanted me to be happy. I was not Christian, but I was happy. She also told me that I can’t go to heaven if I am not Christian. She said that I can go to heaven if I believe in God. I didn’t know that Christian think like that. I think Buddhists believe that people who did good things go to heaven, and people who did bad thing go to hell. I told that to her, but she said she can’t agree with the opinion. She said that every person does bad things. We can’t decide who is good, or who is bad. I agreed with that, but I still couldn’t agree with a thing that only Christian can go to heaven. Talking about religion was so difficult for us. It was hard to understand about Christian for me, but it was hard to understand about Buddhism for my host sister. However I kept going to church, and studied about God. I red the Bible, too. Later, I noticed that I don’t have to believe if I can’t. I noticed that I don’t have to do same thing as Christian. However I should understand the different thinking, too. It is hard, but I think that it is very important thing.

Part-time-job

I’m looking for a job. I don’t like working, but I have to have a part-time-job. I don’t want to work at restaurant because I can’t paint my fingernails if I work at restaurants, and I don’t want to memorize the menu. Next, I want to work at night time because I have classes and practice from morning to afternoon. I think I want to have a part-time-job like nursing care. However I don’t have any qualification for it, so I need to look for a job that I don’t need any qualification. It’s hard to find a job that I want.

Monday night

It's Monday, today. I have a meeting again. We talk about summer camp. We have a camp on August. We are going to go to Amakusa. I love going to beach, but I couldn’t go to sea last summer, so I’m looking forward it. Some people who belong to sports clubs come, then we can make a lot of friends. I will take many photos.

Power Words

I had to do the Power Words to get a credit for reading class. There are many difficult words that I don't know. I typed the words entirely. Then finally, I did it! I did it until around three o'clock in the morning. I wanted to sleep, but I wasn't sure if I can wake up for first period, so I tried to stay awake. It was so hard. I was very sleepy. I took shower not to sleep. I was tired, but I was happy because I could finish the power words.
